Afghan Women at Coffee Hour

On Sunday, May 1, at 12:15 p.m., the Helping Refugees Group (HRG) will host a coffee hour session focused on three professional Afghan women refugees.  Last fall the HRG and other members of the BFM community agreed to help support these women by furnishing their apartments as needed, and we furnished the apartment of one of the women. 

The women worked in Afghanistan as journalists, diplomats, and activists for women’s rights until they were forced to flee the country last August. At the coffee hour they will share stories about their work in Afghanistan, what they are doing now in the USA, and their challenges as well as answer questions.  To join the session, use the Zoom link for Meeting for Worship on May 1.
