Washington Friends Conference on Religion & Psychology

  • January 23, 2023
  • January 25, 2023

The Washington Friends Conference on Religion & Psychology invites us to a virtual conference on the Trauma of Exile. Political exile splits and shapes the psyche of displaced individuals, making their lives feel psychologically conflictual and incongruous. Using Jungian theory can assist exiles in fashioning a new mythic center that grounds the uncentered and gives meaning to the suffering of exile. The presenter is Lourdes Hernandez whose family fled Cuba and who has been marked by the traumas of war and political asylum. There are interest groups on creating mandalas, change toolkits, inner work through fairy tale films, parsing the plenary, interpreting dreams, and breathwork.

Please register via the website.  The cost of the conference is $40. Hit the WFCRP button and go through the drop down menu. When you decide to register, visit the registration page (again on the WFCRP drop down menu) and follow directions. If you decide to pay via a credit card on the website, go back to the home page, hit contribute and pay $40.
