Quakers joining the No Kings Day--local locations

No Kings Day, March 28

Across the United States millions will join together for morally grounded, non-violent direct actions to protest the rise of authoritarianism and protect democratic values.  https://www.nokings.org/

• Sandy Spring Friends Meeting is coordinating Quaker Friends along the Georgia Avenue corridor from Silver Spring to Olney. 
• You can join them as an event volunteer in “Step Out, Stand Up” specifically for the protest at Georgia Ave and Plyers Mill from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
• • The role involves walking the protest line with a partner, helping keep the event positive and safe, and de-escalating conflicts as needed.  Training, vests and whistles provided.

• Langley Hill Friends and FMW will be in segment 24 “Hands across Arlington" -- on Glebe Rd just south of its intersection with Route 50 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. 
• • They are joining the human chain of conscience along Glebe Rd from North to South Arlington. You can bring signs and flags.
